BBQ with our famous Johnny Burger

On Saturday May 30th we had amazing weather to enjoy being outside at the George Langman Sanctuary. The members of Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club donate their time to run this BBQ to raise money for conservation projects. It is through these fund-raising efforts that this sanctuary is able to be funded. If you missed this BBQ don’t worry our next one is July 4th and we would love to see you there.

John Kranjec and Tom Taylor were part of the force behind the scenes organizing the supplies, hamburgers, hotdogs and soft drinks were available for purchase. We actually almost ran out of burgers. Next time we will have more ready to go. The Johnny Burger was named after John Kranjec with his special spices added to make it taste so good and in demand. Mike was our BBQ master griller this time and he did a great job.  It was through commitment of the membership volunteering their time to set up, running the BBQ and cleaning up at end of the day that made it a success.

Over $500 dollars was raised thanks to members and the community coming together at Langman Sanctuary. Without your ongoing support this sanctuary would not be such a well-maintained facility for families to enjoy and learn about conservation of our wet lands.

This was a family friendly event where the waterfowl enjoyed interacting with people, even the bunnies were out for people to enjoy. And thankfully the mosquitos were to a minimal number.

Remember July 4th will be our next BBQ see you there!
