August 30 – BBQ Fundraiser at the Langman Sanctuary

The George Langman Sanctuary will be hosting a special BBQ Fundraiser for Conservation on Friday, August 30 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

This family-friendly event is hosted by the Orillia Fish & Game Conservation Club and is open to everyone in the community. Bring your family and friends, enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, and support the wetlands, wildlife, and natural spaces that make Orillia and its surrounding area so special.

We’re excited to welcome a lineup of speakers and experts who will be sharing their knowledge about our local ecosystems:

Dr. Florin Pendea – Creator of our newest exhibit: “20,000 Year Evolution of the Langman Wetlands”

Karen Koornneef – “The Role of Bogs and Fens in the Water Quality of Wetlands”

Julia Johnston – “Invasive Species and the Best Methods for Their Removal and Control”
