At the Orillia Fish & Game Conservation Club, we are passionate about preserving the natural beauty of our local environment. Our dedication extends beyond conservation projects; we actively engage in impactful fundraising initiatives to ensure the success of our mission as well as to give back to the community.
Through a variety of creative and community-focused fundraising events, we raise the necessary funds to support our conservation projects. From our famous Wild Game Dinner to a 50/50 Draw at the Barrie Automotive Flea Market and our annual Christmas Tree Sales, each event is designed not only to generate financial support for our club, but also to foster a sense of camaraderie among our members and the wider community.

Wild Game Dinner
The Orillia fish and Game Conservation Club hosts an annual wild game dinner and silent auction early each February and this proves to be a popular fundraiser for the Club.
Along with the dinner, the silent auction is held throughout the evening, with many fantastic items up for bid. There are also a great selection of door prizes to be won!
Many of the items awarded as door prizes along with a selection of items in the silent auction are donated to the club by our many corporate sponsors, to whom the club is grateful for their continuing support.
The food for the evening is donated by club members, along with other local hunters and fishermen. Without their donations this event would not take place. The Club is, therefore, very grateful for their assistance. The excellent meal is prepared professionally with the assistance of Club members. The evening begins with a selection of assorted appetizers including smoked Lake Trout and Salmon, a sampling of prepared wild meats, such as deer, elk, bear and boar. This is followed by a main course consisting of elk, venison, moose, bear, wild turkey, pheasant, caribou, beaver and wild boar, along with a variety of salads and vegetables. The menu varies from year to year, depending on donations received from our members and other supporters.
This event is a very popular and well attended fundraiser for the Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club.
Barrie Automotive Flea Market
The Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club (OFGCC) hosts a 50/50 draw at the Barrie Automotive Flea Markets located at Burl’s Creek Family Event Park, held annually in June and September. This is a major fundraiser for our club, raising money for the many conservation projects sponsored by our Club. Funds raised are also donated to other organizations who have a worthy conservation project in the surrounding area. In addition to the funds raised for conservation, a portion of the funds raised at this event are donated by the OFGCC to other local charities, such as St. John Ambulance and Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Since the club began the 50/50 draws at Burl’s Creek Family Event Park in 2006, the club has donated in excess of $100,000.00 in charitable donations. The Club would like to thank the manager of the Barrie Automotive Flea Market, Lisa Groves as well as Linda Hanney, for the opportunity to host the 50/50 draw as part of their Barrie Automotive Flea Markets. Lisa and all of the park staff have worked diligently to host this event and are one of the club’s many fine corporate sponsors. The Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club invite you to come and check out all of the treasures to be found at the Barrie Automotive Flea Market. We encourage you to buy a 50/50 ticket to support the OFGCC and promote conservation in and around Simcoe County.
Christmas Tree Sales
The Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club (OFGCC) has maintained a “cut your own” Christmas tree lot on club property for many years. The lot is located at our Tree Farm at 510 Bass Lake Side Road. Cost for tree is $ 65.00
For the first 200 trees sold $ 5.00 per Christmas tree will be donated to charity (The Sharing Place Food Centre, Salvation Army, and The Orillia Lighthouse Christian Ministry)
Christmas Toy Drive: Throughout the sale, the Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club will be accepting toys for the Christmas Toy Drive at the above location.
Throughout the year the trees are pruned and shaped in anticipation of families coming out to find that perfect tree to adorn their homes at Christmas. There are a number of species of trees available including Scotch Pine, Spruce and Balsam Fir. Funds raised from Christmas tree sales are utilized to fund conservation and educational programs within Orillia and its surrounding area.
George Langman Sanctuary
The George Langman Sanctuary is owned and maintained by The Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club (OFGCC). The sanctuary is a 60 acre plot of land located at the southwest corner of Bass Lake Sideroad and the 14th line of the Township of Oro-Medonte. It is just west of Bass Lake Provincial Park and a short distance from the City of Orillia. The sanctuary is open throughout the year and is free to the public.
The bird housing complex has a food pellet vending machine visitors can use to feed the various ducks, geese and birds in the sanctuary. The vending machine is a great source of funds generated to help fundraise as well as pay for costs for the sanctuary.
There is also a donation box used to support our conservation efforts.
